LA PAZ, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Leganes defender Lucas Macazaga has been ruled out of Bolivia's friendlies against Jordan and Russia due to injury, the Bolivian Football Federation said on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old was replaced in La Verde's squad by Bulgaria-based winger Jose Martines, the federation said in a statement, without providing details of Macazaga's injury.
Martines' only previous appearance for Bolivia came in a 2-1 friendly defeat to Panama in 2023.
Bolivia will meet Jordan in Istanbul on Friday and Russia in Moscow on Tuesday.
Oscar Villegas' team secured a berth in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs by beating Brazil 1-0 in El Alto on the last matchday of South American qualifiers in September.
La Verde is seeking its first appearance at the World Cup finals since the 1994 tournament in the United States.
